JOB DESCRIPTION:
Goucher College, a selective liberal arts college located twenty minutes north of Baltimore, MD, seeks a graduate assistant to work in conjunction with the head volleyball coach in all aspects related to the operation of the volleyball program. This position accepts the responsibility of assisting the head coach in the leadership, vision, and supervision of the respective program. This position will also assist with recruiting. The graduate assistant must successfully enroll as a full-time graduate student in the Graduate Programs in Education (GPE).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to, all aspects (in traditional and non-traditional seasons) of coaching, planning, directing, developing, and managing successful programs - conditioning, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, travel, equipment, budget management, fundraising, community service, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes. They will ensure compliance with NCAA and conference regulations and know and adhere to all sport rules and regulations. They will also perform other duties as assigned by Head Coach or Director of Athletics.
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated success in playing or coaching at the college level. They will also have a genuine understanding and commitment to NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics philosophy.
They will have demonstrated the following skills:
Supervisory, fiscal, and organizational skills. Good interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelors degree.
Required to maintain certification for CPR/AED and First Aid. Must possess a valid driver's license Must be able to work business and extended hours including evenings and weekends. Traveling is expected.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Salary Range: $10,800
This two-year position includes full tuition remission and a competitive stipend. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.
