DE Turf is becoming a leading facility that organizes a large number of sports tournaments, leagues, camps, clinics and events for internal and external partners throughout the year. We’re looking for a highly skilled Operations and Events Manager to make these sporting events effective, cost-efficient, and memorable. The ideal candidate will be evaluating and negotiating with potential vendors, and managing communications with tournament directors, coaches, and event stakeholders. The candidate will have great organizational, communication, and leadership skills and will enjoy developing solutions that push innovative boundaries. They will also work closely with the Executive Director to strategize and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success at the DE Turf Sports Complex.
Bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation, athletic administration or related field required; master’s degree preferred
3+ Years of sports administration experience preferred
Playing, coaching, tournament and league management and/or other relevant experience required
Proven ability to manage sporting events
Experience managing budgets and expense tracking
Ability to remain calm under pressure without losing a customer-service oriented attitude
The DE Turf Sports Complex is the largest all-synthetic sports complex in the mid-Atlantic. It is the home to the Coastal FC soccer club, the Diamonds and Bucks lacrosse clubs, field hockey, mini kickers and recreational adult and youth sports leagues, as well as many major lacrosse, soccer and field hockey tournaments throughout the year.
