Frostburg State University (FSU), Athletics Department is seeking a full-time Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the FSU Bobcat Men’s basketball program. Salary based on qualifications and experience. This is a 12-month appointment which includes the robust University System of Maryland benefits package options.
FSU boasts 25 varsity sports (11 men/14 women).
Responsibilities: The head men’s basketball coach position administers all aspects of all aspects of the Men’s basketball program. The head coach position will manage and oversee the daily operations of the basketball program including practice, gameday activities, recruiting, budget management, managing grant & aid, academic monitoring and mentoring of student-athletes. The head coach will recruit and retain a roster of 18 student-athletes on the Men’s basketball team. These student-athletes are expected to be successful in the classroom, socially responsible, and competitive within the Mountain East Conference and NCAA Division II. Conduct assigned duties in accordance with all University System of Maryland, Frostburg State University, NCAA, and Conference Affiliate policies and procedures. Other work-related duties as assigned. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to overall departmental philosophy and collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least 3-5 years of coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Proven ability to recruit student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree.
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
