Job Description The Human Resources Data Analyst Senior serves in a critical role within the Sun Devil Athletics (SDA) Human Resources office to support administration and the frontline HR staff.
Under administrative supervision, the Human Resources Data Analyst Senior oversees data administration, research, and reporting for the SDA Human Resources Department; assists in complex department payroll functions; and handles a wide variety of recruitment responsibilities. Ensures consistent data integrity for processing and reporting of HR and financial data. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining and retention of personnel files; data administration; payroll management; staff coordination; human resource compliance; internal controls; and other functions as assigned. Reports to the Associate Athletic Director of SDA Human Resources.
This position adheres to NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations, as well as the policies of the department, the university and the Arizona Board of Regents.

Essential Duties HR Data Administration
Act as SDA HR's Analytics Liaison.
Maintain HR-related electronic files.
Initiate queries to research data anomalies; prepares reports, graphs, charts, statistics.
Develop reports, spreadsheets, databases, and queries.
Integrate/create HR processes, workflows, reports using available software resources.
Assist with creating annual incentive letters for assistant coaches and other support staff.
Conduct race/gender demographic studies to compare NCAA and SDA data.
Research/compile coaching salary reports among NCAA Division I schools.
Oversee completion of reports and salary surveys.
Design/create forms for department use.
Create/maintain SDA organization chart.
Maintain department email listserv and update online staff directory.
Periodically audit HR files/data to ensure up-to-date/accurate. Identify errors and initiate data clean-up process.
Provide recommendations to improve efficiency/data integrity.
Utilize knowledge of established functionality and desired outcomes to ensure smooth transition and minimal unintended errors/omissions due to implementation of changes.
Advise and review other staffs' data entry changes to position management, job data, and payroll to ensure consistency with established guidelines.
Coordinate with HR, Finance, and Payroll areas during development, testing and implementation of special projects, policies, rules, procedures, programs to ensure awareness and understanding of process modifications and enhancements. Trains staff within SDA HR to ensure strong understanding of new policies and procedures.
Review documentation and related forms associated with subordinates' processing of job, position and payroll transactions to ensure compliance with policy/procedure; updates and communicates procedural and administrative changes to all affected constituencies to ensure timely adoption and awareness of changes.
Process transactions related to promotions, salary increases, terminations, and additional pay.
In collaboration with SDA Finance, submit taxations for processing.
May assist with timesheet submissions and approvals.
May respond to internal and external audit requests, including preparing and providing documentation for payroll reconciliation.
Track and process contractual salary increases and bonuses.
Maintain and update SDA HR website for onboarding new employees.
May prepare and submit recruitment ads to various online career websites.
Assist with performing actions in Brassring (BR) related to posting recruitment for part-time hourly and regular staff members, including waivers.
May assist with screening applications for recruitment.
Assist with responding to public record requests.
Review and prepare correspondence to answer questions or requests, as appropriate.
Facilitate training as appropriate.
Ensure HR compliance and timely completion of requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or closely related field AND three (3) years’ experience in HRIS position management, job data and payroll procedural, management or systems analysis work; OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
At least one year experience in an HR role (REQUIRED). Applicants without previous HR experience will not be considered.
At least one year experience processing payroll and personnel transactions (REQUIRED)
Experience in maintaining accuracy of payroll and HR transactions, as well as investigating discrepancies.
An eye for detail and strong ability to identify typos and other discrepancies.
Experience in writing queries to develop reports desired.
Experience with Winthrop AD and Lead1 Association data desired.
Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Evidence of effective effective communication skills.
Experience in using Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Outlook, and Visio.
Experience with Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated knowledge of pertinent NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations.
Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable federal, state and regulatory requirements, laws and standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices and standards of human resources administration.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices and methods associated with enterprise HRIS application database management.
Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
Demonstrated knowledge of quality customer service standards, methods and practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of PeopleSoft.
Experience in planning and establishing priorities.

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals
Supervises subordinate HR Data Analyst and may supervise other designated staff
Days and Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am - 6pm. May require extended hours to ensure continual efficient operations of SDA HR.
