The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach is responsible for the recruitment, coaching, and well- being of the volleyball program and student athletes. The head coach also facilitates and supports the holistic needs of the students in the volleyball program, including academic support needs and overall physical and emotional well-being of the students. The Sports Information and Enrichment Coordinator (SIEC) coordinates all areas of sports information and enrichment for the intercollegiate athletic programs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Head Volleyball Coach :
Recruit, develop and retain student-athletes compatible with Kirkwood Community College’s mission and the specific goals of the women’s volleyball program.
Hire, supervise, evaluate all assistant coaches in their sport related responsibilities.
Oversee athletic, academic and social development of volleyball athletes.
Understand and comply with all NJCAA and ICCAC rules, regulations and bylaws.
Manage scheduling, team travel, fundraising, operating budgets within the guidelines established by the Athletic Director.
Maintain all required institutional, ICCAC and NJCAA records for all volleyball student athletes.
Coordinate and facilitate volleyball camps.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SIEC :
Serves as primary media contact for athletic department (includes but not limited to KCC marketing, CR Gazette, local media outlets, ICCAC and the NJCAA)
Serves as social media manager for all athletic accounts, athletics related digital signage and web streaming efforts including content management
Collaborates with marketing on any athletic related press releases, all player, team, staff, game and special event photographs/videos
Maintains all athletic programs statistical files and archives with assistance from program Head Coaches
Assists Athletic Director with enrichment type department activities (including but not limited to hall of fame, athlete recognition, alumni relations, community service, student advisory committee, others
