The Catholic University of America is seeking qualified applicants to serve as the Jamie L. Roberts Endowed Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. The successful candidate will take a lead role in on court instruction, academic mentoring, personal development, and leadership development of student-athletes. The position will work in concert with the head coach to oversee the team's local, domestic, and, when applicable, international community engagement, service, and outreach. In addition, this position will help oversee the planning and implementation of the team's in and out of season travel goals, with an emphasis on cultural engagement and learning, as well as assist in the organization and administration of the team's youth camp and clinical programs.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Contribute to the building of a positive women’s basketball team culture by assisting with teaching and coaching during individual, small group, and full team skill instruction.
Take a lead role in the academic mentoring, personal development, and leadership development of women’s basketball team members.
Manage organizing and implementing the women’s basketball team’s community service and outreach program.
Spearhead the organization and administration of the women’s basketball team's youth camp and clinic programs.
Assist the head coach in the women’s basketball team’s budget management and fundraising efforts.
Take a lead role in the recruitment and retention of women’s basketball student-athletes.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree is required.
The ideal candidate will have approximately two to three years of experience in working with student-athletes and coaching women’s basketball.
