Position: Sports Information Director Reports to: Athletic Director Term: Full-time, 12-month Salary: On scale, Determined by credentials and experience Starting Date: As soon as possible, Position open until filled
Position Summary: The Sports Information Director will be responsible for promoting, publicizing, and celebrating the accomplishments of Western Texas College’s students and coaches for all 17 sports. WTC has a winning athletic tradition and is strongly tied to the local community. All members of the Athletic Staff are expected to be team players supporting each other while promoting the mission of the College, supporting the philosophy of the Athletic Department, and assuring the well-being of all student-athletes. This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of a high-quality collegiate athletic sports information program, which is in conformity with WTC policies and procedures, NJCAA, conference and collegiate rules, regulation, and policies.
Responsibilities: • Oversight of all record keeping of all sport-related information • Ability to run and maintain all sports records and publication of statistics programs (live and post-game) • Develop, edit, and produce all athletic stories, press releases, photos, videos, and publications • Collaborate with members of the Marketing office to promote the College’s brand and help achieve the marketing and communication goals of the College. • Work as a liaison between the Department of Athletics and the Marketing office • Maintain and update the athletic department website. • Responsible for the daily maintenance and upkeep of all sports information areas and equipment. • Execute an appropriate social media strategy to promote Westerner Athletics and the activities of the entire department. • Gather, maintain, and post all NJCAA and NIRA statistics • Manage media and all Sports Information aspects for all home competitions, such as statistics, scoreboard operations, sound systems, and live streaming responsibilities • Manage and oversight of other areas of the live stream needs on campus • Other duties as assigned
Qualification and Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree • Previous experience within a sports information department
