The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach by coaching Cadet-Athletes, recruiting, monitoring Cadet-Athletes academic progress, managing and creating content for social media platforms, managing travel, overseeing the discipline and conduct of the Cadet-Athletes. This position reports to the Head Coach. All the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of USMA, AWPAD, GARC and the NCAA.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution.
Some coaching experience at the collegiate level or experience competing in NCAA competition.
The ability to work nights and weekends.
Skill in operation of modern office machines, communication tools, equipment, computers, and relevant software.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse settings, both on campus and in the community.
Ability to work with a variety of racial and ethnic groups and underrepresented populations.
Ability to commit to the highest ethical standards.
Ability to participate in evening and weekend commitments, as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Competitive experience as an NCAA Rifle student athlete.
Ability to learn adobe suite in order to aid in team social accounts.
Ability to research and resolve problems and questions related to firearms.
Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities.
Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and written.
Ability to provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of staff and cadet-athletes.
