Glenville State College, member of the NCAA Division II Mountain East Conference is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Head Women's Volleyball Coach. This is a full-time, 12-month, benefit eligible position. Responsibilities include providing leadership and vision for all aspects of a successful NCAA Division II volleyball program. Essential duties include coaching, recruiting potential student athletes, academic success of student athletes, scheduling team competitions and team travel, match and practice preparation, budgeting, community involvement, as well as fundraising efforts. A commitment to adhering to all rules and regulations of Glenville State College, the Mountain East Conference and the NCAA is necessary. Salary is determined by qualifications. Position is responsible for the management and administration of all phases of the Women's Volleyball program. Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the College, Mountain East Conference and the NCAA. Reports to the Vice President of Student Life and Athletics
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
Minimum three years successful NCAA coaching experience.
Division II, III or NAIA Head Coaching Experience.
Proven track record of successful recruitment of elite student-athletes.
Professional Competencies
Excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and interpretations.
Must have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated dedication to the full academic and social development of student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree from accredited university.
Preference will be given to candidates who effectively communicate a plan of action for championship success.
Affiliation with highly successful elite programs.
Proven successful implementation of offensive and/or defensive strategies.
Proven significant skill development of student-athletes both individually and collectively.
Full understanding of providing a quality student-athlete experience for all team members.
