Iowa State University is accepting applications for a Director of Volleyball Operations. This position will work under the direction of the Head Coach and manage the daily operations for the Division I women's volleyball program. Responsibilities may include:
Coordinate operational and administrative functions such as facility needs, practice calendar, competition schedules, contracts; and business functions;
Assist in managing the program budget;
Assist with coordination of recruitment process, official visits, and assessment of documentation;
Coordinate team travel and logistics and assist with coaches travel;
Coordinate pre-game event management and game-day team operations;
Oversee the admissions process and housing for incoming student-athletes;
Assist with monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes;
Arrange and supervise student managers;
Serve as the main liaison with other units;
Contribute to an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the student-athletes;
Establish and maintain effective interactions with the students, colleagues, university community, alumni, media and the public;
Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, and NCAA.
This position requires exceptional organizational, decision making, problem solving and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to work some evenings and weekends and ability to travel with the team for competitions.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Directly related experience in athletics administration, coaching or sport operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Solid knowledge of volleyball terminology.
Experience with collegiate athletics volleyball operational processes.
Experience managing large group travel logistics.
