The Associate Athletic Director will oversee and direct a comprehensive external services plan that successfully manages the marketing, messaging, revenue generation and brand management for the department. - Create and implement marketing strategies and promotions that effectively generate awareness of athletic events while driving revenue and attendance. - Oversee a comprehensive campus engagement strategy to include students, faculty, staff, donors, alumni, and community partners. - Activate game day, as well as external promotions that effectively create event and brand awareness. - Schedule marketing cause and theme nights that enhance the fan experience and drive revenue. - Oversee the comprehensive game production of ticketed sports to include game promotion activation and pageantry, digital assets, music, special recognitions, run of show, theme activation, fan/group experiences. - Collaboratively work with departments of communication, social media, broadcast, creative video, sponsorship, graphic design, game operations/facilities, and development to ensure a cohesive brand management and marketing execution strategy. - Serve as liaison to campus committees and departments representing Intercollegiate Athletics including Student Affairs, Band, Cheer, and Housing. - Responsible for managing and executing the external services budget. - Liaison to Collegiate Licensing Company & UT Systems Brand, Trademark and Licensing Department relative to retail production, licensing, and market opportunities. - Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
Five (5) years of related work experience in intercollegiate athletics or professional sports, or a combination thereof showcasing a professional growth pattern.
Successful management and administrative oversight of a team of people.
PREFERRED
Seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in intercollegiate or professional sports sales and marketing.
Graphic design capabilities, sales experience and direct marketing promotions experience that allows candidate to showcase measurable successful campaigns that he/she has implemented.
Social media marketing element strategist.
Possess and understanding of collegiate licensing and brand management.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative, Microsoft Office, ShoFLO, XEO Interactive, FanMaker, Digideck, Fevo, Constant Contact.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Strong organizational skills. Professional in demeanor, dress and speaking capabilities. Must be able to work in a fast paced, changing environment. Heavy event-based schedule. Must work effectively across all department platforms…and be collaborative, curious, competitive, and work with a sense of urgency.
