Long Island University (LIU), an NCAA DI institution, is seeking a Head Women’s Volleyball Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for, but not limited to, the development, leadership and administration of the women’s volleyball program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coaching
•Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the LIU Athletic Department and University as well as the rules and regulations of the NEC and the NCAA. •Oversee the recruitment process. Ensure full compliance with NCAA guidelines in all aspects of the recruiting process. •Provide support and instruction in the personal and athletic development of the team. •Schedule and conduct regular practice sessions within both traditional and non-traditional seasons as permitted by NCAA rules and regulations. •Develop and implement strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels as both individuals and a team. •Schedule use of facilities for practice and contests.
Administrative
•Complete all required departmental and institutional training and certification programs. •Develop and submit the sport’s annual budget and carefully track all expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility. •Initiate and coordinate the selection, purchase, fitting, and maintenance of team equipment to include uniforms, equipment, and supplies. •Hire, supervise and evaluate all assistant coaches for the sport and ensure their compliance with NCAA and department rules, policies, and procedures. •Compile data and reports in a timely fashion when requested by any senior level administrator. •Responsible for coordinating team travel arrangements for all road contests. •Assist with approved fundraising activities as requested and coordinate all team fundraising efforts with the athletic administration.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Requires the ability to work occasional nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Professional Experience/Qualifications: A minimum of 3-5 years of coaching experience in an intercollegiate athletics setting is strongly preferred.
