Job Summary
The senior associate athletics director assists in the administration of a comprehensive athletic program with emphasis on student-athlete services and overall planning and coordination of sporting programs. This position serves as the primary strategic advisor to the vice president, intercollegiate athletics, maintaining responsibility for the department’s strategic and operational planning, goal setting, project management, and human resources functions.

Job Responsibilities and Execution
- Oversees and directs Lindenwood’s student-athlete support services, including sports medicine, compliance, academics, and athletic performance
- Acts as the primary sport administrator and ensures the effective operation of all sport programs
- Acts as an affirmative action liaison for faculty and staff for the purpose of promoting diversity
- Collects and analyzes Athletics department data as it relates to student-athlete support services
- Reviews and annually updates the Athletics department’s student-athlete health and wellness management plans
- Develops a seamless line of communication with the Athletics department’s medical provider and medical directors
- Collaborates with colleagues to ensure student-athletes achieve personal development and attain academic goals
- Promotes positive internal and external messaging regarding strategic initiatives and accomplishments
Leadership and Strategic Thinking
- Provides leadership, education, and direction for other sport administrators
- Represents the University at Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) and affiliate conference membership meetings in addition to NCAA meetings
- Assists the vice president with strategic planning and goal setting for the division
- Participates in community and professional organizations, promoting a positive image for Lindenwood athletics programs
- Provides strategy and support in managing gender equity and Title IX plans and issues
- Takes initiative to develop professional contacts, attend professional development courses and conferences, and engage in professional readings to remain abreast of current topics and events
- Reviews departmental strengths and weaknesses and provides input on how to best improve
Employee Management and Development
- Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
- Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity, and teamwork
- Assists the vice president with key human resources functions
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and monitors performance of department staff
- Conducts annual employee performance evaluations based on expectations, evidence, observation, and feedback

Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in athletic administration or physical education
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional leadership experience with collegiate athletics
- Previous supervisory experience
- Master’s degree preferred
