Duties and Responsibilities of Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach and Director of Hockey Operations
Coach the Men’s Ice Hockey Division 1 team in game competition in the ACHA.
Direct daily practice during the prescribed season
Oversee hockey program, responsible for the development of the ACHA Division 1 and 3 teams
Supervise Assistant Coaches
Recruit prospective student-athletes
Lead team travel
Responsible for team equipment checkout and return
Construct competition schedule with approval of the Director of Athletics
Assist with academic monitoring of student-athletes
Assist the Director of Athletics with public relations and fundraising activities
Direct summer camps

Education of Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach and Director of Hockey Operations
Bachelor’s degree
Degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education, Fitness or related program preferred
Experience of Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach and Director of Hockey Operations
Two years’ ice hockey coaching experience required at the professional, college, or high school level
Core Competencies of Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach and Director of Hockey Operations
Must have strong team building/management skills
Ability to work across academic and administrative departments in a cooperative manner
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to coordinate collaborative efforts
Demonstrated experience in program development, management, and leadership
Ability to interact with members of the public and media
Ability to supervise regular and temporary staff
Understanding of the student-athletes' commitment to academics
Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. occasionally
As a part of the job responsibilities associated with this position, knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the ACHA and conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced to ensure compliance
