About East Stroudsburg University
East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania prides itself on placing students first and on its commitment to student success. With 57 bachelor’s, 21 master’s and two doctoral degree programs, students can select a major that best suits their professional aspirations. Enrollment at the University includes more than 6,400 undergraduate and graduate students representing 26 states and 19 foreign countries. The University has numerous agreements with various local, regional and national businesses for internship opportunities. In addition, study abroad locations are available on 6 continents. ESU’s "students first" philosophy is demonstrated by being the first public university in Pennsylvania to offer a guaranteed tuition program. The Warrior Promise guarantees all new degree-seeking undergraduates on ESU’s main campus a constant tuition rate for the next four years, or eight semesters. In addition, the University offers exciting opportunities to experience and study additive manufacturing and 3D printing in the University’s Stratasys Super lab, one of the first three in the world to have a multi-medium, multi-color Stratasys J750 3D printer; engage in wildlife forensic work and t...ick testing in the Northeast Wildlife DNA Lab; or take business, marketing and finance experiences to new heights with ESU’s Bloomberg Lab equipped with the world’s most powerful real-time business software package. Students can become “game-changing” entrepreneurs with the support of ESU’s Business Accelerator Program and participation in the State System Student Business Plan Competition, while those with a passion for exploration can reach for the stars and discover nature’s wonders in the Schisler Museum of Wildlife and Natural History and McMunn Planetarium. Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provide convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun. Skiing, biking, hiking, canoeing, climbing, snowshoeing and just about any other outdoor activity is available within a few miles of the campus. Established in 1893, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania was founded as a Normal School. The institution changed its name in 1927 to East Stroudsburg State Teachers College and again in 1960 to East Stroudsburg State College to reflect the addition of liberal arts and science curriculums. When the legislature created the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education in 1983, the institution became a university.
