The SUNY Geneseo Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation, a part of the Division of Student and Campus Life, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Head Coach for Women’s Lacrosse. This full-time, 10-month, fully-benefited position will coordinate and oversee all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program and will be assigned a secondary duty or duties based on the skill set of the selected candidate and the needs of the department (eg: game management, assist the strength and conditioning coach, assist the intramural and recreation director). The selected candidate is responsible for administering all aspects of the program with specific duties including but not limited to: effective recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes; individual skill development of student-athletes; scheduling; budget preparation and management; participation in department fundraising, community service, and alumni engagement efforts; monitoring academic performance; and related work as required. The Head Coach is also expected to adhere to all NCAA, SUNYAC, and SUNY Geneseo rules and regulations.
Required: Bachelor’s degree; prior coaching experience at the collegiate level A commitment to the campus values of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Preferred: Master’s degree; minimum of 1-2 years coaching experience at the collegiate level; demonstrated ability to recruit and retain student-athletes who are committed to academic and athletic excellence; experience with fundraising and/or alumni relations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills as well as demonstrated success as an assistant or head coach at the collegiate level.
