The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Director for Student Services on the Dahlonega campus. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, facilitating and evaluating all facets of the athletic support services program while serving as a member of the administrative leadership team within the athletic department.
Athletic Academic Support: Responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive academic support program for student-services; apply NCAA and conference rules as they apply to progress-towards-degree and completion; Liaison, along with the FAR, between athletic department and faculty, student accessibility services, career services, academic advisors, and Dean of Students office. Assist academic advising with registration, tutoring, and academic success plans.
Student-Athlete Development: Supervise and execute the UNG Athletics comprehensive life skills program focusing on career development, health and well-being, leadership development, and preparing student-athletes for their next steps in athletics and in life. Facilitate programming that meets NCAA, university, and departmental needs in areas related to student-athlete orientation, career development, NCAA Sexual Violence Prevention Education, and Name, Image, and Likeness legislation.
Communicate all athletic missed class time to professors and university officials while also overseeing athletic department academic progress reports.
Serve as an advisor to Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), UNG Athletics Leadership Academy, and HawkEm 101, a student-athlete peer mentoring program.
Departmental support: Member of administrative leadership team, assist with game day management, conduct exit interviews of student-athletes, service on university, conference and NCAA committees.
Serve as athletic contact for several campus partners including orientation, student involvement, career services, and the Center for Global Engagement serving as a point of contact for new and returning student-athletes in regards to all university support services.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Three years of experience in a student services area required.
