Position Summary: The graduate assistant coach for softball will be responsible for all aspects of the softball program under the direction of the Head Coach, such as monitoring academic progress, assist with recruiting, training of squad members, and fundraising. The graduate assistant coach of the women’s softball program is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by the University of Charleston, the Mountain East Conference (MEC) and the NCAA. UC is a member of the NCAA at the Division II level.
Responsibilities: The graduate assistant serves as the first assistant to the head coach and will assist with the overall operation of the women’s softball program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning & coaching practices and competitions, recruiting, monitoring student-athlete academics, planning team travel, gear orders, & organization of other team operations. Pitching experience is preferred but not required.
