The Assistant Baseball Coach/Pitching Coach reports directly to the Head Baseball Coach.? This position shares responsibility for the success of the baseball program and Department of Athletics at Millsaps College.? The Assistant Baseball Coach/Pitching Coach supports the head coach, but also the Department of Athletics at Millsaps College.

Comprehend the NCAA Division III philosophy emphasizing academic, athletics;
Recruit and evaluate high school and college athletes within college admissions and NCAA Division III guidelines;
Assist with game and practice video “cut-ups” utilizing Synergy and Hudl video systems;
Provide on-field coaching and athlete skill development, primarily focused on the development and oversight of pitching staff;
Assist in the planning of practice sessions; Primarily focused on pitching staff practice plans;
Monitor academic progress of student-athletes through grade reports and other means; Work with student-athletes to build effective study skills when necessary;
Coordinate team travel and logistics, including vehicles, lodging, and meals;
Assist in scouting opponents;
Assist with fund-raising programs to augment operations budget;
Maintain parent and alumnae communication;
Accept additional duties assigned by the Head Baseball Coach;
Assist with JV/developmental games when necessary.
Comply with all NCAA Division III, Southern Athletic Association (SAA), and Millsaps College guidelines;
Partner with the Department of Athletics to find new and exciting ways to energize the athletics environment at Millsaps College;
Accept game-day administrator obligations each semester, if necessary;
Accept additional duties as assigned by Director of Athletics;
Organize community service activities for team members and coaches;
Participate in various other areas of interest for the College and Athletics.
