George Mason University, a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Coach, Women’s Rowing within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This is a full-time, 12-month position. Assist the Head Coach in organizing, developing and directing the program;
Administer practices and scheduling;
Academic monitoring of athletes;
Advanced degree, or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree;
Ability to work with sensitive private student-athlete information;
Must be knowledgeable of and adhere to NCAA, conference, and Commonwealth rules and regulations;
Demonstrated experience (at least two or more years is preferred) coaching or assisting at the high school and/or collegiate level, and/or competitive collegiate rowing experience;
Must currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator’s license that meets all of GMU’s requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason’s Vehicle Use Policy 1411 https://universitypolicy.gmu.edu/policies/vehicle-use/. The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver’s licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review.
Ability to work with diverse populations;
Proven ability to fund raise;
Proven ability to recruit on- and off-campus rowers.
