The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX is currently recruiting for a Head of Softball Coach to join the Athletics Department. Position is responsible for all aspects of leading a competitiveNCAADivision I softball program including, but not limited to coaching (practice and in-game), recruiting, fundraising, positive encouragement towards student-athlete development, scheduling, and hiring staff. The Head Softball Coach works cooperatively with all external constituencies and campus units.

JOB DUTIES Coach student-athletes during games and practices and elevate student performance over time. Evaluate talent locally, nationally, and internationally, and recruit student-athletes toUIW. Collaborate with various levels of University personnel including athletic administration, softball staff, and faculty as appropriate. Build strong relationships with the local softball community, donors, alumni, and former student-athletes. Hire and manage Softball Assistant Coach(es) and Graduate Assistant. Manage operations and logistics for the team to include budget, travel, scheduling competitions, managing umpires, arranging team meals, academic affairs, student-athlete welfare, and development. Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of collegiate or professional coaching experience. Must have a valid driver's license and must be insurable with UIW's insurance carrier.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes. Must be a team player and have the ability to support and assist other employees. Ability to coach a successful softball team at the college level. Ability to successfully recruit college-level academically and athletically prepared student-athletes. Ability to manage the myriad of ongoing responsibilities within a competitive college softball program, including effectively managing budget, travel, staffing, and parent communications. Knowledge of and adherence to allNCAAacademic and compliance regulations. Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, former student-athletes, faculty, alumni, staff, and San Antonio softball community. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
