Assist in administering an educationally sound competitive soccer program for female student-athletes, within the rules and policies of the Horizon League and NCAA legislated guidelines.
Directly responsible and accountable for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the Program. Participate directly in and supervise the instruction, training, conditioning and coaching of student-athletes in the Program, including without limitation managing, coordinating and operating the Program within the budget allocated, travel and equipment procurement, scouting, game preparation, evaluation and performance of the Program's student-athletes and overall supervision of the Program as approved by the Head Coach. Knowledge of sports science/fitness aspects including use of Polar technology preferred. Assist in the recruiting talented student-athletes and interview prospective student-athletes for the Program, their parents and coaches.
Bachelor's degree required. Minimum two (2) years of collegiate, High School or club soccer coaching experience. Strong interpersonal, administrative and recruiting skills sets. Must follow NCAA, Horizon League and University policies and procedures. Ability to be involved with the overall operation of the program, including, but not limited to coaching, recruiting, administration, compliance and student-athlete development. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Valid Michigan driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the university by the university's insurance carrier.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with education and/or experience in leadership, coaching, or sports science. State or National level coaching license.
