The Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking an energetic and dynamic leader to serve as the Vice President of Sports Development. The vice president will lead the sports department for the Bureau and direct, as well as, perform the sales and marketing initiatives required to solicit and service athletic events for Oklahoma City. The Vice President will serve as the “sports expert” for Oklahoma City with media as well as national organizations inquiring about sporting events and sports facilities in Oklahoma City.
Successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Four-year degree from an academic institution.
Minimum of six years’ experience in related sports marketing, special events or hospitality sales and marketing.
Must possess a strong client base and knowledge within the national sports field.
Extensive knowledge of the amateur sports business and market.
Experience preparing and presenting bids for sports business.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Strong track record in attainment of sales and marketing goals.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
Organized self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and can effectively analyze and interpret data.
Must be willing and able to travel as required.
