The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking an Assistant Cross Country Coach and Lecturer in Health and Human Performance.
The assistant cross country coach will support the three prong mission statement of the Department of Intercollegiate athletics which includes
-Providing a supportive and transformational student-athlete experience that lays the foundation for lifelong success -Enhancing corporate and philanthropic support via strategic campus and community partnerships to provide an invaluable student experience and forward the greater university’s educational mission -Developing a culture of competitive excellence in which student-athletes partake in meaningful athletics experiences.
The assistant coach will support the administration of the entire program with a specific focus on student-athlete development, recruiting and alumni relations. This includes leading all aspects of recruiting including identifying and visiting with student-athletes throughout the Tri-State area as well as nationally. This individual will also support the track and field distance program and teach as a lecturer in the Health and Human Performance Department.
Pay range for this position is $36,000.
Responsibilities include: -Teaching of Health and Human Performance classes -Recruiting Coordinator -Identify, scout, and visit with student-athletes throughout the Tri-State area (as well as nationally) in high schools, camps or combines, and on-campus visits. -Assist the head coach in planning a recruitment strategy to attract top level, Division III prospects including setting up campus visits, assisting student-athletes with the application process, and implementation of campus resources. -Assist in the supervision, in conjunction with the athletic tutoring and advising program, the total academic progress of the team. Support team participation with the Pioneer Leadership Institute -Be responsible for the development, safety and conduct of the team. -Have a thorough knowledge of NCAA, conference and institutional rules and conduct the unit within those regulations. -As a staff member within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, you are responsible for knowledge of and compliance with national Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) regulations, both those general in nature and those which apply directly to your position’s responsibilities. Strict adherence to all applicable governing policies, procedures, and regulations of the NCAA is required and is a condition of your employment -Build Alumni Relationships -Additional duties as assigned. -Be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations; including necessary training and drills.

Master's Degree in Health and Human Performance, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or Physical Education
Certified in CPR, AED, First Aid by start date
