PRIMARY DUTY: The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for all activities related to the Athletic Training room and the Athletic Training Program affiliated with the athletics department at Northwest Missouri State University.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates medical coverage for all athletic events including practice and competition Oversees the care and prevention of injuries and the rehabilitation of injuries for all sports Supervises assistant athletic trainers, graduate assistant athletic trainers and athletic training student workers as appropriate Administrates all aspects of the athletic training program including pre-participation screening, insurance claims management, and other appropriate record keeping Implement, update, and manage institutional athletic drug testing program Acts as NCAA Athletic Healthcare Administrator for Northwest Athletics Coordinate and manage athletic billing Serves as a member of the Athletics Administrative Team Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Master’s degree Certification/License: Driver’s license; NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer and Licensed Athletic Trainer in State of Missouri Experience: Athletic training experience at the collegiate level WORKING CONDITIONS: This position must work and travel nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary. This position must purchase and maintain a cellular device and service that will be used for work functions. This position must be responsible for plan choices, calling areas, service features, terminations clauses, and paying for all charges associated with the cellular device and service.
