![]() Director of Sports Operations - Volleyball Lubbock 23504BR Athletic Director Position Description Oversee the daily operations of a successful Division I Athletics team. This position is for the use of the Athletics Department only. Major/Essential Functions - Coordinate team travel and arena scheduling
- Manage all team calendars for coaches and players
- Supervise team managers and approve their payroll hours
- Order, distribute, organize, and inventory of team equipment
- Provide other support to the coaching staff as needed
- High level understanding of collegiate volleyball
- Ability to process information quickly and work with coaching staff on scouting reports and video analysis.
- Previous experience with or aptitude to learn basic video editing software, experience with coding, providing real time analytic reports and preparing work sheets within the Data Volley program.
- Experience with navigating and preparing reports and video clips within the Volley Metrics program.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to multi-task and coordinate with multiple departments on campus and with outside institutions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including social media and use of online applications for team and staff scheduling and NCAA compliance.
- Ability to meet all deadlines and complete work accurately and at times with minimal supervision.
- Provide logistical support for travel, scheduling, inventory, current and recruited prospective student-athletes.
- Work within house travel agnt and business office to coordinate travel and reconcile trips.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field plus three to five years of experience related to the position. Preferred Qualifications - Experience as a former volleyball student-athlete, coach, or athletic administrator.
- Prior experience with coordinating team travel, budget management, inventory, and staff supervision.
- Ability to work with and contribute to a staff in a highly competitive environment.
- Previous experience in an athletic leadership role (preferably volleyball).
- Previous experience in an educational environment with focus on student-athlete development.
- Previous experience requiring advanced communication, organizational, problem solving and logistics skills.
