About McPherson College
McPherson College seeks dynamic and innovative applicants for the position of Men’s and Women’s Head Tennis Coach. This position reports to the Athletic Director and is a full-time, exempt position, eligible for college benefits. This is a 12-month position.
The Head Tennis Coach is responsible for a focus on student/athlete instruction in athletic performance, physical health, and sport team concepts specific to tennis. The coach is responsible for developing and guiding the tennis program by mentoring, teaching and providing the guidance and support necessary for the student athletes to be successful in their athletic and academic endeavors. The coach will represent McPherson College, its mission, and the Athletic department’s program and goals in a positive manner.
Duties include but are not limited to the recruitment and retention of student-athletes; scouting; scheduling; team travel; community service; academic monitoring with integrity; enforcement of team policies and procedures; off-season conditioning; leading training sessions and knowledge of and adherence to college, conference and NAIA rules and regulations.
Experience: Previous coaching experience require...d. Heading coaching experience preferred.
Education: A baccalaureate degree. Master’s degree preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills are necessary.
Other Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required and working with budgets.
Travel is a requirement of this position.
