Reporting to the Head Football Coach, the Assistant Coach – Offensive Line is responsible for coaching and managing players and assisting in all operational aspects of the varsity football program. This includes organizing practice schedules, overseeing PT staff, creating clinic/camp opportunities for prospects, organizing team meals, cash advances, transportation, and travel plans. This individual will also assist the head coach in developing a competitive NCAA Division III football program within the Centennial Conference competition, in the classroom, and in the community. The Assistant Coach will assist in monitoring the academic progress of student athletes, work on and off campus to recruit quality student athletes, assist with strength and conditioning programs, provide general counseling to athletes, and assist the Head Coach in fundraising and other related special projects. Additional duties may be assigned.
Previous college and/or professional level coaching required
Bachelor’s Degree required
Strength and Conditioning Certification preferred
Successful collegiate recruiting experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong, detail-oriented, organizational skills
Computer literacy and adaptability in all Microsoft, Hudl, Recruiting and NCAA software
A strong knowledge and experience working with athletes, teams and programs
A self-motivated leader/worker
Ability and interest in sports and a willingness to work with college students.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with employees, coaching staff,
student athletes, vendors, alumni, and general public
Ability to manage and supervise staff including training, scheduling, and evaluating
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible workweek schedule including evenings and weekends along with overtime in busy periods during the academic year.
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as instructions, manuals, rulebooks, safety rules, policy standards, student timecards and memos.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence for varied campus groups.
Ability to speak effectively, present information one-to-one and in small group situations.
Valid driver’s license with two or less points.
