Position Summary: Job Summary The Assistant Football Coach reports to the Head Football Coach. The primary tasks are to assist the head coach in recruiting and serve as a position coach. Specific Responsibilities Identify and recruit quality student-athletes for the football program Develop and implement organized practices and game strategies for designated position(s) Monitor and track academic progress of student-athletes on team Adhere to all NCAA and conference rules and bylaws Develop positive rapport with athletics staff, as well as SU community Represent the university to various constituents in a professional manner Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Excellent speaking and writing skills necessary, as well as the ability to be a well-organized self-starter. Ability to work with current students and parents, prospective students and parents, and staff and faculty in a professional manner. Ability to effectively use a PC, Windows platform, HUDL, Front Rush, telephone and equipment specific to the sport. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree OR three years of coaching/playing experience required. Additional Requirements This position requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to drive and qualify under the university’s insurance carrier when driving a university and/or leased vehicle. Physical Demand Lifting, pulling, pushing: Exert up to 50 pounds for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Talking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
