University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a full-time Director of Sports Medicine. Responsibilities include establishing policies and procedures and managing all aspects of the sports medicine program with primary emphasis on the health, safety, and welfare of student-athletes. Duties include the prevention, evaluation, treatment, referral, and rehabilitation of injuries/illnesses; working with team doctors and serving as liaison for all medical services; managing the operation of the athletic training room; staffing athletic contests; supervising three full-time assistant athletic trainers; managing the athletic training budget; and ordering equipment and supplies. The director also serves as a member of the department’s senior administrative team and as the department’s designated Health Care Administrator. This is a full-time, 10-month (August 1 – May 31) position, with benefits.

Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field required. Candidate must be nationally certified in good standing with the Board of Certification. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required. Licensed or eligible for licensing in the state of North Carolina required. College athletics work experience preferred. Candidate must possess strong organizational skills, effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
