Albright College, a liberal arts college in Reading, PA, is seeking applications and nominations for the position of head men’s and women’s tennis coach. This is a full-time, twelve-month position in the Athletics Department. Albright is an NCAA Division III member institution as well as a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), and the Commonwealth Conference.
The head coach, in collaboration with athletic administration, assistant coaches, and support personnel, is responsible for the overall administration of the men’s and women’s tennis program. The program is expected to reflect the highest standards of ethical conduct and comply with NCAA and Middle Atlantic Conference specific governance. The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the tennis program including, but not limited to, teaching and training, general program management, counseling and advising student-athletes, budget management, and the recruitment and retention of student-athletes. In addition, the coach will be responsible for various administrative duties in support of the operations of the department. Additional related athletic duties may be assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Essential Job Functions: 1.Lead the tennis program with on court coaching. 2.Recruit prospective student athletes on and off campus. Evaluate player talent for recruits. 3.Organize recruiting communications and campus visits. 4.Set up and monitor student athlete academic sessions. 5.Lead retention efforts for tennis athletes. 6.Match preparation and strategy. 7.Attend all MAC tennis coach meetings. 8.Organize program fundraising. 9.Maintain team social media pages. 10.Promote diverse and inclusive atmosphere within the program. 11.Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and physically show examples of tennis movements. May be asked to stand for two hours at a time.
Work Environment: The individual is routinely exposed to outdoor weather conditions and temperature extremes, and moderate noise level.
Qualifications/Prerequisites: 1.COMMUNICATION: a.Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. b.Knowledge of social media platforms and ability to maintain team pages. 2.SKILLS: a.Playing and/or coaching tennis necessary. b.Must possess a dynamic personality. c.Superior leadership and organizational abilities 3.EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE: a.Successful coaching experience at high school or college level b.An understanding of the role of athletics in a Division III academic institution. c.Experience recruiting academically successful student-athletes preferred. 4.EDUCATION: a.Bachelor’s degree required. 5.LICENSES: a.Drivers license required. b.Child clearances required.
