Supports all aspects of academic support operations, including but not limited to: Academic advising, Athlete Essentials 101, Life Skills programming, Objective-Based Study Hall, SAAC, Tutoring program, Testing, Textbook distribution/return, Social Media/ASC Communication, and special department projects. Assists with the coordination of all aspects of the presentation of intercollegiate athletic events and other events at athletic department facilities in coordination with other athletic department areas.
(40%) Ensure NCAA and Tulane University eligibility and progress towards degree requirements are being met. Prepare documentation for NCAA certification. Assist in the certification process. Maintain documentation in appropriate systems. Communicate with Football Advisor regarding academic progress. Distribute and collect travel letters. Class Check. Participate in professional development and staff trainings. Advise assigned student-athlete population with course selection and major selection. Track at-risk students. Monitor grades.
(35%) Manage study hall logistics. Assist students with developing study plans and objectives. Track attendance. Track objectives. Send reports to Football Advisor.
(15%) Assist student-athletes in developing their knowledge of course materials. Provide interactive, objective based tutoring, and employ subject specific study techniques.
(10%) Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of one year experience in college athletics, whether as a student worker or student-athlete
Experience with tutoring
Experience at the NCAA D-I level
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
