The Office of Academic and Student-Athlete Support Services is seeking qualified and self-motivated applicants for a Graduate Assistant position working directly with our NCAA Division I student-athletes. The incumbent will report directly to the Director for Academic & Student-Athlete Support Services.
Job Responsibilities: The Graduate Assistant will assist in all facets of the office and will be responsible for helping student-athletes in the following; academic advising, intervention, progress reporting, career development planning, missed class notice preparation, orientation planning, communicating with athletic administration, assisting with Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), community service tracking and file maintenance. The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for other duties as assigned.
Anticipated start date: January 18, 2021 (this position can start earlier if the applicant enrolls in winter session I or II).
All applicants must be accepted into a Fairleigh Dickinson University Graduate degree program and have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate grade point average as well as:
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and computer knowledge.
Experience with or knowledge of NCAA and intercollegiate athletic rules and regulations.
Prior relevant work or internship experience, student-athletes preferred.
