Director of Coaching, Part-Time
The Director of Coaching (DOC) is a high-impact opportunity to shape the culture and player development at Highline Premier Football Club (HPFC or Club). This person is responsible for leading, managing, developing, and recruiting the coaching staff of HPFC, developing and/or maintaining a soccer culture that aligns with the mission and values of the Club, establishing and institutionalizing a soccer methodology/ curriculum that transcends all ages and genders and working collaboratively with the Director of Operations (Ops) to meet these expectations.
The Part-Time nature of this job reflects the moderate number of players (150) and the high level of involvement of the Director of Operations in running the Club. The DOC reports directly to the Club Executive Board and is a core member of the HPFC leadership team. The DOC can expect to work most closely with the Director of Operations throughout the year.
Our professional licensed coaching staff administers a unique club curriculum that progressively challenges players to be disciplined while inspiring a balance between player growth and results-oriented outcomes. Players train year-round, 2-3 days per week. Each team participates in regional Summer Tournaments, and Fall and Spring seasons in the Puget Sound Premier League (PSPL). Tryouts occur each April & May, with 8U and 9U teams trying out 2x per year in April and December. HPFC currently has 13 teams ranging in age from 8U through 18U for both boys and girls, with a membership of about 150 players.

Licenses - Possess a USSF or NSCAA National Coaching License
Experience - Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar or related position, demonstrated success in teaching, coaching, and recruiting
Must be a self-starter and able to work efficiently and independently
Team player with a collaborative spirit, able to work productively with various groups, personalities, and perspectives
Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in usual or new or challenging situations
Articulate strong oral and written communication skills
Positive energy, charismatic, team player with excellent collaborative, interpersonal, and supervisory skills
Ability to diffuse conflict and provide helpful guidance toward resolution
Excellent prioritization, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Have a developmental-oriented vs. results-oriented approach to coaching
Willingness and ability to do a broad range of tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Telecommuting is allowed.
Additional Salary Information: $25,000 annual starting salary. There is a member-growth incentive goal for every additional 50 players added to registered membership of $10,000 increase in salary per year. Contract terms may be negotiated and evaluated in August of each year, not-to exceed $65,000 in total salary.
