Executive, Executive - Associate Athletics Director
The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Varsity Sports serves as a member of the Athletic Director’s varsity sports senior management team that provides strategic leadership and direction to 30 varsity sport programs. Reporting to the Executive Associate Athletic Director, this position has direct oversight of select varsity sport programs, including the supervision of head coaches and their staffs, and is responsible for developing and promoting the department’s mission within those programs. Additional responsibilities include working with athletics staff on special projects and events to enhance external support for women’s athletics programs. The Senior Associate Athletic Director will also assume significant oversight responsibility for one or more functional areas.
Proven leadership and management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for constructive interaction with associates, assistants, coaches, department staff, student-athletes, administrators and faculty. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in sensitive situations, and work effectively in a fast-paced and complex work environment. Strong planning and analytical skills. Working knowledge of NCAA rules preferred. Six years of athletics administrative experience, preferably including sport oversight and/or collegiate coaching experience.
