The defensive coordinator for football is responsible for assisting the head coach, in implementing and directing all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III football program at DePauw University. This includes recruiting quality student-athletes, organizing and planning practices and game strategies, scouting, coaching, scheduling, budgeting and planning team travel in compliance with University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. The defensive coordinator also provides leadership in the personal, academic, and athletic development of student-athletes.
Based on the skills and talents of the individual, a secondary assignment within the football program is assigned.
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) required. Master's degree preferred. A minimum of five (5) years related coaching experience required. Understanding of and commitment to a liberal arts education is required. Playing and/or coaching experience at the intercollegiate level in football required. NCAA Division III athletic experience preferred. Proven ability to recruit quality student-athletes who fit the academic profile of the student body.
