Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Track & Field Coach – Director of Operations will support and enhance the mission of the San Diego State University Athletic Department. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the direction of the Track & Field and Cross-Country programs, performing a variety of coaching functions related to the sports of Cross Country and Track & Field in the Athletic Department. These coaching functions include, but are not limited to, the following: recruiting, administrative duties, coaching, meet management, facility management and fundraising.
Education and Experience
One year of collegiate track and field coaching experience with an emphasis in jumping field events, and/or three years of Elite coaching experience with professional athletes as a track and field coach, with an emphasis in the jumping events.
Preferred proficiency coaching both horizontal and vertical jumps at a high level; long jump, triple jump, high jump.
Knowledge of pole vault technique and runway development experience preferred but not required.
Experience working with female athletes in combined events.
Experience within Division I NCAA coaching arena preferred.
Additional Salary Information: CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,824 - $5,471 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
