Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training
This position reports to the Athletic Director. The Athletic Trainer develops, coordinates and administers a comprehensive sports medical program for College intercollegiate sports. The athletic trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program. Supervises the Fitness Center. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following. 1. Performs related duties as required. 2. Establishes and maintains a professional network with the college and high school trainers of Southeast Texas. 3. Establish Continuing Education opportunities for Southeast Texas. 4. Establish and maintain a professional network with college and high school strength coaches of Southeast Texas. Other duties as assigned. Master’s Degree NATA BOC certification Eligibility to take Texas LAT Exam One-Two years of professional experience preferred in a similar position. Including graduate work. Must be available to work a varied schedule to include extensive night and weekend work. Must have a high degree of communication skills. Ability to create, evaluate, and document procedures. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Ability to solve problems and be multi-tasked. Ability to interact with students, faculty, and staff in a professional manner. Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Ability to promote a positive campus image. Ability to follow established college policies and procedures.
