Responsibilities: Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine ?Provides for and supervise the Sports Medicine services for the College of Mount Saint Vincent athletic department as directed by the Team Physician, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessary. ?Ensures compliance with all college, conference and NCAA rules and regulations related to medical care for student-athletes. ?Supervise the scheduling of all student-athletes for physical examinations, medical referrals, and determine a student-athlete’s ability to practice and/or compete in consultation with the team physician. ?Communicates with coaches regarding the injury status of student-athletes. ?Maintain up-to-date medical records for each student-athlete ?Develops an annual operating budget and oversee the purchasing of training room supplies and equipment. ?Oversee, develop, mentors the sports medicine student workers. ? Assist in developing an annual operating budget and overseeing the purchasing of training room supplies and equipment. ?Provide coverage for home athletic events and post season games as assigned ?Provide coverage for team practices as assigned.
Responsibilities: Assistant for Facilities & Operations ?Assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities & Operations for program usage of all athletic facility spaces in Peter J Sharp Athletic and Recreation Center; Marillac Field and Faye field. ?Assist to manage and coordinate all maintenance needs for athletic indoor/outdoor spaces with Facilities Department. ?Assist to coordinate logistical support for all intercollegiate events (tables, athletic concessions, banners, special event set-ups, etc). ?Primary contact in coordination with Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities & Operations for athletic department off-campus field/facility rentals. ?Assist to collaborate with all head coaches in coordinating scheduling for all athletic home events and practices, both on and off campus. ?Assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities & Operations to coordinate transportation requests/changes for 14 collegiate athletic teams with transportation provider. ?Assist to coordinate athletic van schedule and usage. ?Responsible for general maintenance and upkeep of Athletic vans including regular inspections, cleaning, routine maintenance, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
Current CPR / AED certification
Three to five years of directly related professional experience (preferred)
Experience at an NCAA Division lll institution (preferred).
Knowledge of NCAA and NATA rules/guidelines
Must be certified by the NATABOC
Ability to develop long and short-term plans for area of responsibility
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, students, and the public
Evening and weekend hours essential
Successful candidate must have a valid driver's license with proven driving record in good standing
Significant athletic training experience in a college setting a plus
