Frostburg State University Athletics Department is seeking a full-time Assistant Football Coach – Director of Football Operations for the FSU Bobcat football program. This is a 12-month appointment and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.
Frostburg State boasts 22 varsity sports (10 men/12 women), which includes a nationally prominent football program. The Bobcat football team posted an 8-3 record in its first season at the NCAA Division II level. In the two previous seasons at the NCAA Division III level the Bobcats posted at 21-3 (8.75) record and established themselves as one of the top teams in the nation. Frostburg has won 284 games in program history and made 11 playoff appearances while boasting 37 All-Americans and eight National Football League (NFL) players.
Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for the day to day administrative operations within the football program. These duties include managing the football budget, scheduling facilities, maintaining the football roster, issuance and retrieval of all football equipment and coordinating all team travel. This position will also plan, recruit, and oversee FSU football camps. This position will have the responsibility of coaching a position group and recruiting, retaining and graduating academically successful student-athletes. Other related duties as assigned. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to overall departmental philosophy and collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least 2-3 years of collegiate or above coaching experience. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of collegiate or above coaching experience. Knowledge of ARMS.
Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
