James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association, is seeking an Assistant Volleyball Coach to work within a highly competitive program. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefit package and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Assistant Coach supports the administration of the Volleyball program by coaching, training and motivating student-athletes in order to achieve competitive success; assisting the head coach in organizing and scheduling practices, facilities and games; scouting opponents and breaking down video; coordinating recruiting quality student-athletes who meet admission requirements and who have the potential to graduate; and ensuring compliance with NCAA, CAA and JMU regulations.
A bachelor’s degree is required with a master’s degree preferred. Division I playing or coaching, recruiting and training experience is required. The ability to guide and support James Madison University student-athletes in their quest for excellence-academically, athletically and socially as they prepare for productive and meaningful lives is essential. In addition, the ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community is essential.
