This part-time position involves managing all aspects of the Women’s Rugby program including recruitment of women’s rugby players, coaching and student development. We are seeking a coach to guide the transition from a club team to a varsity sport sponsored at the NCAA Division III level.
Manage all aspects of team preparation for a successful and competitive program at NCAA Division III level (pre-season; in season; off season)
Assist the Director of Athletics in all start-up related tasks necessary in the transition from club to varsity level
Effectively recruit and retain qualified student-athletes who are excellent representatives of Manhattanville College
Develop and maintain alumni and family support of the program
Work with Director of Athletics on all fundraising aspects for the women’s rugby program
Maintain an accurate budget based on equipment, facility and travel needs
Maintain cooperation with the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) on scheduling, conduct, and all rules pertaining to the conference
Comply with all NCAA Division III, NIRA and Manhattanville College regulations
Coordinate community service activities
Other Duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Required: Bachelor’s Degree Valid U.S. Driver’s license for a minimum of two years USA Rugby Level 200 certification or equivalent Current knowledge of the rules and policies of NCAA Division III College coaching and playing experience Successful recruiting at college level
Preferred: USA Rugby Level 300 certification or equivalent Master’s Degree
