The Montana State University Billings Women's Soccer program is looking to hire a graduate assistant soccer coach for the Fall 2020-Spring 2021 academic year. The Graduate Assistant Coach reports to and is supervised by the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and assists the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach in various aspects of the program.
Planning and implementing practice sessions;
Providing input and other coaching related duties for home and away games and events;
Recruiting qualified, prospective student-athletes as allowed by NCAA rules (NCAA Recruiting Test must be passed);
Analyzing video of ourselves and opponents;
Making team travel arrangements, such as transportation, hotels, and meals;
Planning and implementing camps and clinics in the respective sport;
Assisting with the planning and implementation of departmental development and marketing events and activities;
Assisting with the oversight of the student-athletes academic achievement;
Assisting with planning and implementation of community service activities;
Assisting with game and event scheduling with opponents; and
Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and/or Athletic Director.
Must be accepted into a graduate program at Montana State University Billings;
Must be in good standing academically at MSUB and enroll in at least 9 credits per semester as well as meet and maintain all graduate program requirements;
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
Ability to multi-task and work within a team environment;
Desire to work with culturally diverse populations;
Ability to work with people in fast paced environment;
Must have thorough understanding of special demands of the athletic environment with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with student-athletes, coaches, athletic department staff, boosters, university administration, faculty, and surrounding community.
Hired candidate will receive:
In-State Tuition Waiver: $1,980 per semester
Stipend: $3,000 per semester
Collegiate soccer playing experience preferred; preference will be given to candidates with a goalkeeping background
NSCAA or USSF diplomas/licenses are a plus
Prior coaching experience is a plus
