In this new position leading the strategic vision for Notre Dame Football communications, we strive to find a candidate who is passionate about the opportunity at the University to work with a group of student-athletes, coaches and staff to tell the Fighting Irish story. This role will serve as the strategic planner for all internal and external communication, messaging and storytelling for the team while serving as primary media contact for three-time national coach of the year Brian Kelly. This role must have the foresight skills to properly educate, elevate and empower student-athletes and coaches about their brand and ensure positive sentiments about the University. They must have the ability to facilitate ideation, production and execution from a team of content creators that come from all parts of the Athletics Department. This position must have a proven track record of working with internal constituents and University partners. They will oversee coordination of all media requests (internal and external) for football program, including the “pitching” of stories to local, regional and national media. Additionally, is a key member of the Fighting Irish Media (FIM) communications staff, providing counsel to departmental communications lead on all aspects of the department. Must have impeccable internal communication skills, strive to be a leader within FIM and not be afraid to be innovative - all while being a great teammate to the entire Athletics Department staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 3 years previous experience in a similar role required. The individual should be an experienced and outstanding internal & external communicator who has worked within high functioning team of content creators. Leadership, relationship building and critical thinking are all essential. Experience in communications role required, including managing media and team relationships at a high level.
