Overview:
Specifically, responsible for development activities as an employee of the Bulldog Foundation (BDF) for both annual gifts to the Bulldog Scholarship Fund and for major gifts to sports programs, the endowment fund and capital projects. This position will serve as a representative of Fresno State Athletics and the Bulldog Foundation in the following regions: Fresno, Madera, Merced, Modesto, Sacramento, San Francisco and Sanger. The individual will also assist in marketing and ticket sales efforts in these regions. This position reports to the Associate Athletics Director for Development and will serve as the BDF liaison to designated sport clubs, establish strong corporate relationships, and provide solid stewardship to current athletic donors.
Major duties of the job include:
•Serve as a gift officer for Fresno and other assigned areas. •Assist with marketing, public relations, and ticket sales efforts. •Regularly communicate and meet with donors and prospective donors to Fresno State Athletics. •Meet annual goals for increasing the number of members and gift dollars to the Bulldog Foundation. •Establish and maintain corporate relationships to increase donation levels, season tickets, and corporate marketing opportunities. •Help ensure effective communication among development staff. •Aggressively identify and formally qualify new prospects and existing donors though personal visits, phone calls, correspondence, events and university activities to meet fundraising objectives. •Manage a portfolio of primarily new/discovery prospects, seeking to grow the pool of engaged alumni, friends of the university and corporate supporters. •Create written proposals for solicitation of individuals and organizations. Coordinate and communicate efforts with other development officers and administrators. •Conduct stewardship through gift acknowledgements/thank you correspondence, donor recognition, communications and special events. •Collaborate with development staff, faculty, program directors, other university administrators, and volunteers to identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors. •Act as BDF liaison to the Football Quarterback Club and other clubs as assigned. •Oversee Courtesy Car Program
Secondary duties of the job include:
•Develop and implement a comprehensive prospecting plan for university alumni, with an emphasis on alumni living in California who are potential high-end annual ($2,500+) and major gift ($25K+) prospects using tools provided by the Office of Prospect Management and Analytics. •Identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts •Performs special duties and projects as requested
