Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training
The assistant athletic trainer is responsible for providing athletic training services to Lindenwood University intercollegiate athletic programs. This position collaborates with the athletic training program coordinator to provide supervision, instruction and evaluation of athletic training students.

•Assists with the overall administration of the athletic training program
•Administers injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation
•Maintains accurate medical records and appropriate communication with the sports medicine team and physicians
•Provides practice and game coverage
•Conducts pre-participation evaluations
•Coordinates medical insurance claims
•Oversees student employees and athletic training students
•Teaches courses as assigned
Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
Master's degree required
Certification by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (BOC) required
Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of employment required
Five years or more of college experience either as a graduate assistant or as an assistant athletic trainer at another college or university preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Must be able to understand and use a variety of modalities to provide athletic training services for Lindenwood University athletes
Familiar with governing rules
General computer skills
