The Athletics Department at Mansfield University is seeking a pool of applicants for a regular full-time Assistant Coach for Baseball for an appointment beginning Fall 2019. The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting with the overall organization, direction, supervision and administration of Mansfield University's NCAA Division II Baseball Program.
Examples of Duties:
Recruiting student athletes within the rules and philosophy of the NCAA, PSAC, and Mansfield University; evaluating player talent â“ both academically and athletically; emphasizing academic priorities to student athletes; helping to organize/conduct practices; scouting and providing appropriate strategy for competitive (game) success; related administrative tasks; assisting with fundraising initiatives; and maintaining appropriate communication with students, other coaches, university staff, parents, and alumni.
To help plan, direct and organize all aspects of pre-season, in-season and post-season training, practices and games at the direction of the head coach.
To help direct and be involved in the recruitment of student-athletes and to ensure that recruitment practices are consistent with all NCAA, PSAC and Mansfield University regulations.
To plan and/or participate in fund-raising activities associated with the sport of Baseball and the overall intercollegiate athletic program.
To assume responsibility for appropriate administrative tasks such as equipment inventory, travel arrangements and game management.
Chart/report countable related athletic activities (CARA).
Work with NCAA Clearinghouse to track athlete's eligibility.
Track recruiting with the Compliance Assistant Internet program.
To assume other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach.

Bachelor's degree and previous baseball coaching experience. Must possess a valid driver's license.
Applicants will be rated on the following criteria: 1. Three or more years of collegiate baseball coaching experience. 2. Demonstrated recruiting ability and success. 3. Demonstrated experience assisting with fundraising initiatives.
