Deputy Athletics Dir., Student Athlete Experience
Position Description: Reporting to the Director of Athletics, oversee strategy development for athletics activities in Academics, Business Operations, Facilities, Event Operations, Equipment, Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning and Student-Athlete Development. Assist General Counsel with administration of NCAA compliance monitoring and education. Responsible for administrative oversight of 3-4 varsity sport programs and other strategic duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. 7+ years multi-unit experience in NCAA athletics administration including event management, facilities, business office, student welfare, etc.. Track-record of successful collaboration with University stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership for multiple direct reports, including delivery of impactful professional development activities for supervised staff. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to efficiently multi-task and provide responsiveness within and outside of the organization. Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy. Ability to travel and work evening and weekend hours as required.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Previous experience delivering impactful operational practices for an NCAA athletics program. Previous experience serving as a sport supervisor, including proactive management of Title IX/institutional equity and student-athlete code of conduct matters. Experience at multiple levels of NCAA divisions.
