The Gulf South Conference is accepting applications for the position of Sports Services Coordinator. The opening is a 10-month appointment with a $1500.00 per month salary. The Sports Services Coordinator will work under the immediate supervision of the Commissioner but shall also assist the Assistant Commissioner for Championships & Video as well as the Assistant Commissioner for Compliance & Special Events. Areas of assigned duties will include the following:
Assist the Commissioner on special projects and meeting preparation.
Serve as Event Director for the GSC-SSC Volleyball Crossover.
Create Championship Handbooks.
Assist in marketing fulfillment.
Manage game-day environment for GSC Basketball Championship including public address, spirit teams and on-court promotions.
Assist in data management with GSC Compliance program.
Work nights and weekends as necessary.
Attend Conference Meetings as assigned by the Commissioner.
Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Commissioner.
Prior experience related to one or more of the duties and opportunities listed above will help the candidate achieve high levels of success.
Strong computer skills especially Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software solutions required.
Previous experience with collegiate or professional athletics preferred.
Ability to work independently and efficiently on a variety of time-sensitive projects.
Commitment to excellence and attention to detail that is reflective of the position’s impact on the GSC’s public perception.
