Focus on the holistic development of all players. Implement and convey the club’s soccer philosophy and core values. Identify players for future consideration for NC Fusion Academy program. Support and Advise players and families through the College Recruitment Process and be an advocate and liaison for players with College Coaches
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop age and ability appropriate coaching sessions, provide a consistent development pathway for players, identification of future players, assist with and help conduct coach education meetings, handle all team game day logistics and assist with away game travel logistics, collaborate with other age group coaches to implement coaching philosophy and constantly analyse for future improvements and recommendation to Director. Take ownership of the Fusion College Futures Program and be an advocate and mentor for players and families during the college recruitment process.
Role of the Coach
Leads the team:Establishes and implements club culture and core values, sets performance and development goals, team building, improves the team and prepares them for Competition, Evaluates the process and adjusts.
Trains the team:Formulates and designs age appropriate training sessions that align with the club curriculum and establishes club style of play. Creates Reality based training sessions and uses age appropriate methodology. Encourages players to think and make decisions. Evaluates and adjusts.
Leads the players:Informs, guides and supports Individual players on and off the field, empowers individuals to take ownership. Supports the player to develop Individual development plan. Educates players on positional responsibilities within the team.
Talent Identification:Evaluates players within the team and identifies and recruits potential players who fit the club’s player profile. Attends all age group Talent ID sessions, Try-outs and Evaluations, and provides insights and input to D.O.C
Coaching in the Game:Formulates Goals based on NC Fusion Development curriculum and analysis of team and individual performance. Creates a game plan based on weekly training cycle. Creates a learning environment and encourages ownership, decision making and accountability. Hold pre-game, half time and post-game team talks to assess strength and weaknesses of team, individuals and opposition and effectively conveys the message on improvement.
Education and Training
Bachelor’s Degree (exercise science or closely related field preferred)
USSF B License (USSF A preferred)
USSF National Youth License
Knowledge and Experience
Must have at least 3 years of experience working with U17 - U23 age range players at Academy and/or Collegiate level. Understanding of implementing an annual training plan consistent with club philosophy. Understanding of relative age differences in age group and ability to organize training to accommodate. Experience with video analysis and ability to break down and present to players (individuals & team), coaches and parents. Knowledge and Experience of the College recruitment process. Experience advising and placing and or recruiting highly committed players in to college programs.

Approximately, 20 hours on field coaching
Approximately 20 hours office and admin duties
Work nights and weekends
Travel within NC, regionally and nationally with other DA/PDL team
Salary Range: $38K - $43K (commensurate with qualifications/experience)
